Clifton Drummer

Purpose-bred eventer out of a full-sister to Gold Medal winner Ian Stark's ARAKAI, by renowned eventer/show jumper sire DRUMS OF TIME.

  • 16hh Dark Bay TB Gelding, born early 2001.
  • Fabulous bloodlines:
  • Dam Ring The BoardRing the Bell x Happy Hostess.
  • Sire Drums of TimeNearco, Nasrullah, Princequillo, Man ‘O War.
  • Lovely type of horse – very nice paces, naturally goes uphill and carries himself very well. Excellent attitude jumping – bold and clean but calm and rhythmical.
  • Only been lightly worked as clearly has maturing still to do. Has responded beautifully to everything asked of him.
  • Ready for someone to bring on and produce a lovely, easy talented eventer.
  • More information about Arakai – a stunning performer
  • Top Three-Day eventer ridden by Ian Stark (GB), who rated him one of the very best horses he had ever sat on.
  • Arakai gave an excellent performance to finish 14th at Badminton 1997 (clear inside the time cross-country) when only eight years old and relatively inexperienced.
  • He followed this with an outstanding performance at Burghley 1997 in the Open European Championships to finish 10th individually and in the winning British team.
  • Happy Hostess, Dam to Arakai.
  • Approximately 16.1hh Bay TB mare, 16yo.
  • Excellent conformation, lovely temperament, viceless.
  • Top jumping lines tracing back to Nearco and Princequillo. (In the 1997 International Symposium 'A Sport Horse for the Future', Hugh McMahon emphasised that five stallion bloodlines stood out in world-class jumpers, including Nearco and Princequillo. He also noted that in the previous world rankings for show jumping, nine of the top ten horses trace back to Nearco.)
  • Sister to Secure Deposit who won the Auckland Cup (Group 1 race). A brilliant jumper, was still hunting when 20 years old.
  • Top racing lines – her offspring are consistent winners on the race track.
  • More info about Ring The Board:
  • Full sister to Arakai (Happy Hostess and Ring The Bell).
  • Approximately 16.2hh Chestnut TB mare, 10yo.
  • Excellent movement, good conformation, lovely temperament, viceless.
  • Sire: Ring The Bell (now deceased).
  • Previously, the top eventing sire in the world. In the 1997 eventing world breeding rankings (previous year's results), he was the only sire to have three horses in the top 100, i.e. Aspyring (3rd), Arakai (26th) and Stunning (80th).
  • Ring The Bell is also a renowned sire of steeplechases including the 1997 Aintree Grand National Winner, Lord Gyllene.
